Scar left by chemical burn
Irregular patches left by FUE

3 techniques are available in our center to reduce size of scalp scar:

1. Scalp Micropigmentation

2. FUE-Grafting into scar

2. Excision and Re-Closure

The advance of Scalp Micropigmentation has made it the preferred choice in most cases. Also it changes our preference for hair transplant technique, when FUT making a return. The downside of FUT, the linear scar at the back of the head, can now be easily fixed by SMP, leaving the patients with the option of wearing skin head even after a FUT procedure.

Technique 1 : Scalp Micropigmentation

SMP

Our SMP ( Scalp Micropigmentation ) is performed using our patent device to introduce pigment into the scalp to mimic natural hair follicles. The goal of SMP is to reduce the reflection of light from the balding scalp , somehow similar to the use of artificial fibres.

Indications

•   Scar left by previous FUT hair transplant procedure
•   Scar or mottling left by previous FUE hair transplant procedure
•   Any scalp surgery, including facelife

Our Technique

•   Create pigmented slits that look like natural hair follicles;
•   Control the direction and flow of the slits to blend in seamlessly with the existing hairs
•   It crucial to match the pigment with the individual's skin complexion
•   The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and mild sedation in an aseptic envirnoment

Postop Care

•   Special formulated ointment will be provided to assist color retention and wound healing
•   Avoid shampoo for 2-3 days
•   Avoid sunburn to the scalp

Number of Session

•   It usually just one session to achieve the required result
•   Touch up may be required
•   Under normal circumstance the color would last 3 to 4 years
